Australian Expatriates
One of the main reasons Australian Expats buy real estate back in Australia is they intend on returning at some point.
Some buy in Australia as they see it as a great investment.
Some of the difficulties faced are:
- Can’t view the property
- Poor knowledge of current market conditions
- Inability to gauge what is a fair price
- Problems negotiating from afar
- Different time zones to speak to people
- Arranging inspections
The three options are:
- Buy when you return
- Buy with the assistance and guidance of a buyers agent
- Ask friends and family to give up a lot of time to view the properties, deal with the real estate agents and organise everything for you
It is okay to buy when you return, just be careful that you don’t get priced out of the market.
A lot of areas in Sydney’s inner suburbs are still going up in value.
