What will your Budget Buy?

The first step of searching for a home is to work out what you should expect to be able to buy within an area. There is not much point spending endless weekends looking at property that is out of your budget

Some questions you should ask yourself are:

  • Which areas can I afford?
  • What lifestyle does the area provide?
  • What compromises am I willing to make?

By assessing these questions first, you will save yourself a lot of time looking for a property that does not exist.

It is a good idea to talk to a lender or mortgage broker to find out your borrowing capacity.

Other costs involved in the purchase include:

  • Stamp duty
  • Building and Pest inspection
  • Conveyancing solicitor
  • Mortgage costs
